Starting therapy can feel like a big step, but it doesn’t have to come from a place of crisis. This post shares a little about who I am, how I work, and why creating a safe, supportive space is at the heart of everything I do.
Welcome to Empower Me Therapy
My name is Marc, and I’m an integrative therapist based in South Yorkshire, offering therapy in Doncaster and online. I provide a safe, supportive, and confidential space for both adults and young people to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgement.
I’ve spent much of my career working with children and families, and at 35, I made the decision to follow my passion for therapy. This has been one of the most fulfilling paths I’ve taken, and I feel privileged to work alongside clients as they begin to understand themselves more deeply and create meaningful change in their lives.
With so much pressure in everyday life, more and more people are facing challenges with their mental health. At the same time, there are ongoing gaps in access to support. I’ve seen first-hand how long waiting times for therapy, often 6 months or more, can leave people feeling stuck, overwhelmed, and, at times, let down by the very services meant to support them.
During that time, many people find that their anxiety, low mood, or personal struggles can become more difficult to manage.
Professionals within public services continue to do an incredible job with limited resources, but I felt motivated to create my own private therapy service to help reduce some of these barriers and offer more accessible support for those who need it.
At Empower Me Therapy, I offer flexible therapy options designed around you. This includes face-to-face therapy in Doncaster, online counselling sessions, and walk and talk therapy in the local area. Sessions can be arranged weekly, fortnightly, or monthly, allowing you to find an approach that works both emotionally and financially.
Working with a private therapist also gives you more control over your journey. Rather than being limited to a set number of sessions, you have the freedom to continue therapy for as long as it feels helpful, and to end when you feel ready. Therapy is not about being “fixed”, it’s about understanding yourself, building resilience, and creating lasting change at your own pace.
I work creatively and collaboratively with my clients, tailoring each session to suit your individual needs. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, low mood, relationships, self-esteem, or simply feeling disconnected, therapy can help you gain clarity, feel more in control, and move forward with confidence.
